Who am I?

I’m delighted that you are visiting my website! Perhaps you are wondering who I am? I would like to introduce myself to you 😊.

Who am I?

My name is Cherish Pinas, and I am a secondary school English teacher as well as a teacher coach. I love listening to music, reading, crocheting, making clothes, hiking, going to the theatre, visiting museums and a few other things. I love personal development, so I am always learning new things. Oh – and I love quotes that require a bit of thought before you understand them. Therefore, I start every first lesson of the week with a quote in class, and I call it the Quote of the Week. Not all my students like it, but I think it is important that you also learn to think beyond your own bubble. Stretch exercises for your mind you could call it 😉.

The purpose of this website

The past few years have been pretty tough for all of us. I have hated seeing, both on the news and in my classroom, how young people struggled with the whole isolation business and its aftermath. Many were not comfortable in their own skin and struggled to maintain their confidence and balance.

In the news, things were not much better. People lost their jobs, became depressed, seemed to face a hopeless existence… My heart went out to everyone who suffered a dent in their self-confidence during that period (and still do to this today). I wanted to do something, but I didn’t know exactly what. Then I realised that I could do something: write about losing, regaining, and maintaining your self-confidence.

Don’t immediately think that I am the figurehead of self-confidence, but I wanted to do my part. As a mentor and teacher coach, I know how important it is to point out to others aspects of themselves that lead to them learning to stand in their power. Hence, I personally chose to take this step and start this website.

Suggestions? Questions?

Hopefully I can be of some use to you, and if you have any questions, or are missing something: feel free to let me know! 😊

Happy reading! Maybe it helps to start with this article. It’s somewhat long, but informative I think.

And hey, I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t end with a quote 😉:

“The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.”— Nelson Mandela
